Multi Effect Falling Film Evaporator
Multi effect falling film evaporator is monoprogrammed evaporation equipment, comprised of evaporator, separator, heat exchanger, pump, control system, and worktable. Various evaporators as rising film evaporator, natural circulation evaporator and forced circulation evaporator can be integrated with the process, thus into multi effect evaporator, and classified as single-effect evaporator and II-VI effect evaporators. The bigger the number is, the more the evaporation. Generally, the single-effect evaporation can up to 3t/h. II effect evaporation up to 5t/h. III effect evaporation up to 50t/h. IV effect evaporation up to 150t/h. V effect evaporation up to 200 t/h and VI effect up to evaporation 300t/h.
For industrial production, large amount of heating steam is required for evaporation of much water. Multi effect evaporation, for a reduction of steam consumption, thus can be applied. The pressure and boiling point of liquids of aftereffect should be lower than that of fore-effect. As a result, the secondary vapor of fore-effect can function as heating medium for that of aftereffect, namely, heating chamber of aftereffect works as condenser for secondary vapor of fore-effect. Only the first effect evaporation in the whole process consumes vapor, which is the mechanism of multi effect evaporation. The last effect evaporation is operated generally in vacuum, and secondary vapor for every effect function as heating steam for the succeeding effect evaporator, thus the evaporation efficiency is improved with lower energy consumption. Assume the same amount of water for single effect evaporation or multi effect evaporation, the required evaporation for the former is far more than that of the latter. For example, as materials are put into evaporator at the boiling point, in spite of thermal loss, temperature difference loss and evaporation difference under pressures, theoretically technical parameters are as following:
Application
Multi effect evaporator requires material temperature of 50~200℃, applicable to consecutive feeding and layout process. It has features of high concentration ratio (1/6-1/15), a wide range of viscosity (<5000 cp), good thermal conductivity and strong handling capacity, which is favorable for evaporation of the materials of heat-sensitive, high concentration and viscosity and of erosion. It is widely used for juice, milk, glucose, starch, medicine, chemical engineering, pesticide, bioengineering and waste recycle etc., particularly for materials which are easy to volatilize or highly heat sensitive or not easy to scale.
