Brief Description

 

Starch sweeteners are made from starch by hydrolysis with acid or enzyme. The obtained liquid products including maltose, glucose syrup, fructose syrup; the solid products including monohydrate dextrose, anhydrous dextrose, crystal fructose, maltodextrin, etc.
All products are mainly used as a sweetener in food industry. Glucose and maltose can be further processed to sorbitol and maltitol by hydrogenation, which are used in the food and toothpaste to prevent dental caries.
The maltodextrin is the key ingredient in confection. Because of its high stickness, it can improve the viscosity and taste. As filling ingredient and viscosity increaser, it is used in various beverage, frozen dessert, instant cooling drinks.
High fructose syrup (also called glucose-fructose, isoglucose and glucose-fructose syrup) is used worldwide as a sweetener as it is easier to be handled than granulated sugar.
